When you are invited to contribute, DMC will send you an email message. In the email, when you hit the Accept Invitation button, your browser will take you to the WordPress LogIn page. If you already have an account, you can sign in.
If you don’t have a WP account, you can sign up easily. If you want your own blog, great, you can start one (or several), and also contribute to ours. If you don’t want your own blog, but just want a “user account” so that you can contribute to DMC, that option is to the right of the Blog Name box, highlighted in blue.
In setting up your User Profile, please make sure of the following: 1.) What is in the”Public Display Name” box is the Author Byline you want to use, not your Username, which is the default setting (i.e. Todd Gleason, instead of tgstarre). 2.) You have some kind of avatar or profile picture. 3.) You have at least one line about yourself in the “About Me” box. This will serve as your bio and will also ensure that your profile shows up under your post.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO POST YOUR OWN WORK. IN ORDER TO KEEP OUR PUBLISHING QUEUE CLEAR AND UNCLUTTERED, ALL NON-EDITOR POSTED POSTS WILL BE DELETED ASAP.
Unless one of the Editors has already specifically asked you to post your work, PLEASE don’t worry about trying to post anything. We’ll take care of it! We’ll let you know when the piece(s) are ready to fly.
